Case Study: Handmade, Individualized Gift Concept

This gift concept is unusual in that it was designed and made so that each gift was artistically consistent but individualized for each gift recipient in a small office staff department for their holiday luncheon.

The concept was that each recipient would be gifted a “wellness kit” with a homemade topical botanical healing lotion or oil, a homemade wishing necklace, and other items. Some items, such as the glass bottles and tins, were repurposed, while others were sourced new from craft stores (such as the bags and ribbons). Each botanical oil or lotion was made with organic ingredients (some from my own herb garden or from gardens of other people I know), and oils and lotions from local and trusted vendors from Pike Place Market and the Fremont Farmer’s Market in Seattle, WA. I researched common ailments of the recipients and included herbs with properties to alleviate symptoms. Each photo in this gallery shows steps toward the finished gift concept.
